Wednesday - Babbacombe to Exmouth

I left the car at Starcross and caught the train to Teignmouth.....unfortunately I just missed one and they were only one per hour, so,I would have been better catching the bus! After meeting up with J&K in the cafe near the pier in Teignmouth we set off for the walk along the famous railway line which runs by the shore and which was damaged by the storms in 2010.  The train track has now been repaired and trains are using the line again, but much of the footpath has yet to be restored, so we had to divert along the road for a while, which was both frustrating and dull!  However the bit where the path runs under the track and is submerged at high tide was very interesting!

We rejoined the footpath near Dawlish Warren and continued on to Starcross where I had left the car. 14.5 miles for J&K, 7.7 for me. The weather was not too bad, though Julia is complaining about the wind! Today we had a bit of fine drizzle at times but nothing much.

After a shower and change of clothes we were ready to hit the town......or at least hit Prezzo for food then collapse into bed for another 10 hour kip!!! This walking and the sea air does take it out of you!

Our walk tomorrow is 13 miles to Sidmouth.....after driving to our accommodation I might get the bus back to Budleigh Salterton and wait for them there or just beyond, depending on the frequency of the buses.
