Brixham to Babbacombe

After another good breakfast Julia and Kevin set off walking and I set off in the car to drive to Babbacombe to our next B&B. When I got here, Sheila, our landlady had saved a car parking space for me opposite her house so I offloaded the bags then set off to meet J&K enroute. I caught a bus into Torquay then set off along the road towards Paignton. We met up in the cafe at the end of Paignton Pier at 10:50 and had a cuppa and shared a piece of carrot cake, then we set off back (for me) to Torquay. We got back to the big wheel where we met Michelle, Julia's friend at 11:50. After sharing a plate of chips (so I could rest my feet, after walking 5.2 miles) we all set off for Babbacombe. The SW Coast Path signs were few and far between, or hidden by parked vans etc and we missed one of the turnings and ended up doing more road walking than necessary causing the comment "All the gear but no idea" from someone!! The route from Torquay was picturesque and rather up-and-down but very enjoyable. We stopped for a drink before getting into the funiculare for the ride up the cliff to our B&B. We got in at about 3:45, had a shower then went out for a meal at 5pm. From my GPS I could see that I walked exactly 10 miles today - which is 5 more than I have done in quite a while! My feet did hurt considerably for the last 3 miles but it was 'copable' and I know I will sleep well for the extra exercise!
